Nature, in the work of India Leire, is not observed — it is reimagined.
Based in Paris, she develops a sculptural language that moves between observation and invention. Her forms draw from botanical structures, yet shift toward something more ambiguous — hybrid, unstable, at times almost alive.
Working with plaster, clay, and organic elements, she constructs pieces that emphasize texture, growth, and movement. Surfaces appear to expand, fold, or mutate, suggesting a process that is ongoing rather than fixed.
Her work brings together references from natural environments, imagined botany, and mythological narratives. These influences converge into sculptural forms that resist clear categorization — situated somewhere between plant, animal, and landscape.
Through this approach, she creates immersive, dreamlike environments where familiarity becomes unsettled. The viewer is invited into a space where perception shifts, and where the boundary between the natural and the constructed begins to dissolve.
