Silent Structures - Automne Exhibition at SM Bureau

09 Sep — 20 Nov

SM Bureau, Paris

Silent Structures explores the ways in which objects quietly shape our perception of space.

Structure is considered not as something rigid or purely technical, but as a presence — an equilibrium between material, volume, tension and void. Some works reveal the logic of their construction, while others conceal the gestures, assemblies and forces that hold them together.

Bringing together artists and designers working across collectible design, sculpture and contemporary craft, the exhibition explores the shifting boundaries between functional object, sculpture and architecture. Wood, stone, ceramic, metal, glass and textile are approached not simply as materials, but as active elements that determine the form, rhythm and emotional character of each work.

Presented together, the works form an interior landscape of volumes, verticals, supports and pauses. Rather than asserting themselves through spectacle, they reveal their presence gradually — through material, proportion and the relationship between body, object and space.

Silent Structures reflects on what holds a form together, both physically and symbolically, and on the ability of objects to become intimate architectures.
