Pablo Bolumar

Pablo Bolumar

Spain

Light, in the work of Pablo Bolumar, is inseparable from the material that carries it.

Working with beeswax, he develops objects that move between lighting and sculpture. The material diffuses a warm, living glow, while retaining its texture, scent, and organic irregularities — making each piece both functional and sensory.

His approach is grounded in material research and circular thinking. Lamps are conceived to be disassembled, repaired, and sustained over time, reflecting an awareness of ecological cycles — particularly those of honey bees, whose rhythms underpin the work.

Beyond their function, these pieces engage multiple senses. Light, surface, and scent interact to create an experience that unfolds slowly, activating memory and perception.

Through this practice, Bolumar proposes a different relationship to objects — one that is attentive, durable, and deeply connected to the living world.
