Texture is never corrected in the work of Natura Ceramica — it is embraced.
Based in Amsterdam, the studio develops interior objects through hand-building, using one of the most direct ceramic techniques to shape contemporary forms. Volumes remain concise, almost archetypal, while surfaces carry the unpredictability of the process.
Their practice is driven by experimentation. Clay is combined with wood and coal, allowing materials to interact, react, and transform. Cracks, roughness, and irregularities are not seen as flaws, but as the point where the object becomes singular.
Rather than standardizing production, the studio privileges variation. Each piece retains its own identity, shaped by the conditions of making and the natural behavior of materials.
Presented internationally, their work reflects a commitment to material expression — where objects remain open, tactile, and grounded in process.
