Glass, in the work of Lætitia Jacquetton, is never isolated — it exists in dialogue with stone, memory, and landscape.

Raised in rural Burgundy, her early experiences of nature continue to inform her sensibility: movement of water, irregularity of rock, and a tactile relationship to the environment. Initially trained in fashion design, she gradually shifted toward craft, drawn to vernacular forms and hand-making traditions.

A pivotal moment in her practice emerged through encounters with Japan — from the philosophy of Mingei to the spatial language of Kyoto’s stone gardens. It was there, and later through glassblowing in Okinawa, that the relationship between glass and stone became central to her work.

Now working in Murano, she continues to develop this dialogue, combining the fluidity of glass with the permanence of mineral forms. Her pieces hold a tension between transparency and weight, fragility and grounding — as if two temporalities were meeting within a single object.

Her work has been presented internationally, across Europe, Japan, and the United States, reflecting a practice that moves between cultures while remaining deeply rooted in material.
