Collected materials form the starting point of Johanna Meyer’s practice.
Based in the South-West of France, the Brazilian artist works with clay, stones, and found elements gathered directly from her surroundings. These materials are not neutral — they carry traces of place, time, and transformation.
Her process remains intuitive and empirical. Rather than imposing a fixed narrative, she allows forms to emerge through interaction, assembling fragments into objects that feel both symbolic and personal.
Her work reflects a sensitivity to the transient nature of matter — to what shifts, dissolves, and reappears. Between visible and invisible, material and immaterial, her pieces seem to hold a suspended temporality.
Guided by a poetic relationship between objects and the living, her practice unfolds as a quiet exploration of connection — where each form becomes a point of resonance.
