Form, for Jessica Chetrit, is a matter of balance.
Working with clay through modelling, throwing, and sculpting, she develops a vocabulary of simple volumes and geometric lines. These forms remain restrained, yet never rigid — holding a tension between softness and structure.
Her practice is guided by proportion and spatial awareness. Each piece is conceived in relation to its surroundings, where void and mass are equally considered. The object does not stand alone; it defines and is defined by the space around it.
While her work resonates with a lineage of artists who pursued essential form, it remains grounded in a personal approach. References are absorbed rather than cited, allowing a language to emerge that is both precise and intuitive.
Beyond formal concerns, her ceramics carry a quieter dimension. Through projects tied to memory and transmission, her work becomes a vessel — where material holds traces of emotion, continuity, and presence.
