Silence plays an active role in the work of Christina Schou Christensen.
Her ceramic pieces are defined by restraint — by what is held back as much as by what is shaped. Volumes remain subtle, surfaces finely worked, allowing light to move gently across them.
Rather than asserting form, her objects seem to settle into space. Edges soften, contours dissolve, and each piece reveals itself gradually, through proximity and attention.
Her practice reflects a sensitivity to nuance — where the smallest variation in texture or tone becomes significant. The work resists immediacy, inviting a slower perception.
Through this quiet language, she constructs objects that exist between presence and absence — where form becomes a space for contemplation.
