Before founding 2222STUDIO, Gloria Landenberger spent more than a decade in fashion — an experience that continues to shape the way she thinks about colour, surface and composition.
Established in Amsterdam in 2017, 2222STUDIO grew from Landenberger’s desire to move towards a more personal and tactile form of making. Ceramics initially offered a meditative counterpoint to the pace of the fashion industry, gradually developing into a practice centred on handcrafted objects for the interior.
Each piece is designed and made by Landenberger herself. Her background in graphics, textiles and colour theory translates into objects defined by clear silhouettes, expressive surfaces and carefully considered combinations of form and colour. Function remains present, but is approached with the freedom of an objet d’art, allowing familiar domestic typologies to acquire a more individual character.
Longevity is fundamental to the studio’s approach. Rather than following seasonal cycles, 2222STUDIO creates distinctive objects intended to remain relevant through their materiality, craftsmanship and visual identity.
The studio’s name comes from 22:22 — a sequence Landenberger has regarded as her lucky number since adolescence, associated with the ritual of making a wish whenever it appears.
